The Turkey 500,000 Lira banknote was released by the Central Bank of Turkey in L.1970 (1998 ND). The obverse of the purple banknote features the bank logo and revolutionary statesman Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who served as president of the new Republic of Turkey. The banknotes reverse depicts the bank logo, the Canakkale Sehitleri Aniti or the Canakkale Martyrs Monument on Hisarlik Hill in Morto Bay. The 160 x 76 mm paper bill bears a windowed security thread with a demetalized TCMB and a watermark that reflects Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. This banknote comes in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
