This uncirculated 500,000 Turkish lira banknote was introduced in 1997 under Law 1970 by the Central Bank of Turkey and signed by Aydin Esen and Gazi Ercel. It is a purple banknote that measures 160 mm x 76 mm. Its obverse side features former president Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Its reverse side depicts the Canakkale Sehitleri Aniti (Canakkale Martyr’s Memorial) on Hisarlik Hill in Morto Bay. Security features include a windowed security thread with demetalized TCMB, a watermark of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and a serial number that starts with M-prefix.
