The Turkey 500,000 Lira banknote was issued in 1998 by the law of 1970 at the Central Bank of Turkey, bearing an I prefix. The banknote comes in purple and shows the bank logo and a portrait of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on its obverse design. Depicted on its reverse design is the Canakkale Sehitleri Aniti or the Canakkale Martyrs Memorial on Hisarlik Hill in Morto Bay, overlooking the Dardanelles Strait. The note is 160 x 76 mm in size and carries a windowed security thread with a demetalized TCMB. It also has a watermark that reflects Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
