Turkey 500,000 Lira Banknote, L.1970 (1998 ND), P-212a.1, UNC, Prefix J

This uncirculated 500,000 Turkish lira banknote was introduced in 1998 under Law 1970 by the Central Bank of Turkey and signed by Aydin Esen and Gazi Ercel. It is a purple note that measures 160 mm x 76 mm. Its obverse side features former president Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Its reverse side depicts the Canakkale Sehitleri Aniti (Canakkale Martyr’s Memorial) on Hisarlik Hill in Morto Bay. Security features include a windowed security thread with demetalized TCMB, a watermark of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and a serial number that starts with a J-prefix.
