The Turkey 500 Lira banknote was released in 1983 by the Central Bank of Turkey. The blue-colored banknote has dimensions of 140 x 72 mm. Its front design consists of a picture of revolutionary statesman Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. On its reverse is the Izmir Saat Kulesi or the Izmir clock tower in Konak Square. Palm trees are also visible on the design. The banknote was printed by TCMB and bears a watermark that reflects Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. .
