This uncirculated 500 Turkish lira banknote is a standard circulation banknote introduced by the Central Bank of Turkey in 1983. It is a blue banknote that is dated 14 January 1970, bear the signatures of Bank Governor Yavuz Canevi and Vice Governor Ruhi Haseski, and measures 140 mm x 72 mm. Its obverse side shows a portrait of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Its reverse side depicts a view of the Izmir Saat Kulesi (Izmir clock tower) in Konak Square. Security features include a solid security thread with printed TCMB, a serial number that has a D-prefix, and a watermark of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The  banknote was demonetized in 1999.
