The Uganda 1,000 Shillings banknote is part of the 2017 issues. It is orange in color and measures 131 x 64 mm. The obverse side shows a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress, the Nyero rock paintings in Kumi, savannah grasslands, a purple-to-green OVI patch, and the coat of arms. The reverse side features a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress, the sun, a map, a kob (antelope), and the National Independence monument in Kampala. This banknote uses a red-to-green windowed security thread with demetalized BOU I and contains a watermark with a crested crane, electrotype 1000, and cornerstones design. It is graded 67 by the Paper Money Guarantee (PMG).
