The Uganda 2,000 Shillings Banknote was isued by the Bank of Uganda in 2021 and depicts the country’s rich historical, natural, and cultural heritage. Its obverse features a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress, a purple-to-green OVI patch, the coat of arms of Uganda, the Nile river, and the Source of the Nile Monument in Njeru. Its reverse features the country’s map, sun, talapia fish, the National Independence monument in Kampala, and a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress. The note is 135 x 66 mm in size and is equipped with a red-to-green windowed security thread with demetalized BOU II and a watermark image of a crested crane and electrotype 2000. It is also signed by Susan Kanyemibwa and Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60 to 70.
