The Uganda 5 Shilling banknote is part of the family of notes issued by the Bank of Uganda in 1987 because of high inflation rate. The brown banknote is 127 x 62 mm in size. Its obverse features the national emblem, the outline map of Uganda, and the bank emblem. Its reverse design depicts a crested crane, an elephant, a waterbuck, and a hippopotamus. The banknote was printed by Thomas De La Rue and Company Limited and bears a solid security thread. This particular paper bill has been graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
