The Uganda 5 Shilling banknote is part of the new Ugandan shilling banknotes issued by the Bank of Uganda in 1987, replacing the old Ugandan shilling due to high inflation rates. The banknote comes in brown and is 127 x 62 mm in size. Its obverse design depicts the coat of arms, the outline map of the country, and the bank emblem. The reverse of the note shows a crested crane, an elephant, a waterbuck, and a hippopotamus. Printed by Thomas De La Rue and Company Limited, the banknote comes with a solid security thread. This paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
