The Uganda 50 Shilling banknote was introduced by the Bank of Uganda in 1979, after President Idi Amin fled the country. It comes with purple and brown combinations and is 142 x 76 mm in size. The obverse of the banknote features the Bank of Uganda building in Kampala and the national emblem. Featured on the reverse of the note are the Owen Falls dam and the Nalubaale Power Station in Jinja. The paper bill bears a solid security thread and a watermark that shows a crested crane. This Uganda 50 Shilling banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
