The Uganda 500 Shilling banknote is part of the family of notes released by the Bank of Uganda in 1986. The blue banknote is 152 x 85 mm in size. Portrayed on the front design is the national emblem on the map of the country. On the back of the note is a herd of Watusi cattle and a man picking coffee berries. The banknote bears a solid security thread and a watermark that shows a crested crane when held up to a light source. This banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
