The United Arab Emirates 5 Dirham banknote is part of the family of notes released by the United Arab Emirates Central Bank in 2009. The new coat of arms that depicts the national flag surrounded by stars on the Saker falcons chest is featured on the banknotes obverse. The front of the note also depicts the Blue Souk or the Central Market in Sharjah. Portrayed on the back of the 143 x 60 mm paper bill are a saker falcon and the Bay of Khorfakkan with a tower. The banknote bears a solid security thread with a demetalized UAE 5. It also has a saker falcons head as its watermark. This banknote has been graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
