The United Arab Emirates 5 Dirham banknote is part of the family of notes released by the United Arab Emirates Central Bank in 2009. The banknotes obverse featured the new coat of arms depicting the national flag surrounded by stars on the Saker falcons chest. It also depicts the Blue Souk or the Central Market in Sharjah. Portrayed on the back of the paper bill are a saker falcon and the Bay of Khorfakkan with a tower. The 143 x 60 mm banknote bears a solid security thread with a demetalized UAE 5. It also has a watermark that shows the head of a saker falcon. This banknote has been graded 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
