The Uruguay 1,000 Pesos Uruguayos banknote is part of the 2015 issues. It is green, brown, pink, and blue in color and measures 159 x 74 mm. The obverse side shows a denomination as a registration device, the coat of arms, laurels and vase as registration devices, Juana de Ibarbourou, and the map of Uruguay in gold OVI. The reverse side features eight books (Chico Carlo, Raiz salvaje, El Cantaro Fresco, Perdida, Las Lenguas de diamante, Loores de Nuestra Sera, Estampas de la Biblia, and La rosa de los vientos), the La Palma de Juana palm tree monument in Montevideo, and laurels and vase. This banknote uses a 4-mm wide holographic windowed security thread with demetalized BCU 1000 and contains a watermark with a Juana de Ibarbourou and electrotype Mil and 1000 stacked three times design.
