The Uruguay 2,000 Nuevos Pesos banknote is part of the 1989 issues. It is orange, purple, brown, red, blue, and green in color and measures 159 x 74 mm. The obverse side shows the coat of arms, laurels, scroll, and artists palette as registration devices, and Juan Manuel Blanes. The reverse side features the El Altar de la Patria (Alter of the Homeland), consisting of an allegorical woman standing with a staff, leaning on a monument with flag and scales and laurels, scroll, and artists palette. This banknote uses a solid security thread with printed URUGUAY and contains a watermark with a JosGervasio Artigas design. It is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guarantee (PMG).
