The Uruguay 2,000 Pesos Uruguayos banknote is part of the 2015 issues of the Central Bank of Uruguay. It comes in a color combination of black, yellow, purple, and blue and measures 159 x 74 mm. The obverse side shows the denomination as a registration device, the coat of arms of Uruguay, laurels, a buff-necked ibis (Theristicus caudatus) bird, and a microscope. It also displays a portrait of Uruguayan priest and naturalist Damaso Antonio Larranaga, and the map of Uruguay in purple SPARK. The reverse side features the Biblioteca Nacional 26 de Mayo de 1816 (National Library 26 May 1816) and laurels, a buff-necked ibis (Theristicus caudatus) bird, and a microscope. This banknote uses a 4-mm wide holographic windowed security thread with demetalized BCU 2000 and contains a watermark that reflects Damaso Antonio Larranaga and an electrotype Dos Mil and 2000 stacked three times. This paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
