The Uruguay 20,000 Nuevos Pesos Banknote was Issued by the Banco Central Del Uruguay in 1989. It has a color combination of green, purple, and red. Its obverse features the coat of arms of Uruguay and a portrait of Juan Zorrilla de San Martin. The reverse depicts the Alegoria de la Leyenda Patria (allegory of the Patriot Legend) consisting of a flying bare-breasted angel. The note contains a windowed security thread with printed URUGUAY and a watermark that reveals Jose Gervacio Artigas. It also has a registration device in the form of laurels, an inkwell, a quill, and a scroll. It measures 159 x 74 mm and is signed by Juan Cesar Pacchiotti, Ricardo Pascale, and Jose Sambarino. This particular specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and is in an acrylic block.
