This uncirculated specimen note of a 5,000 Uruguayan Nuevo peso is stored in an acrylic block. The 1,000 Uruguayan Nuevo peso note was issued in 1989 and signed by Jose Sambarino, Juan Cesar Pacchiotti and Ricardo Pascale. It is a purple, orange, green, and brown note that measures 159 mm long and 74 mm wide. Its obverse side features the coat of arms, a portrait of Pedro Figari, and a SPECIMEN overprint. Its reverse side depicts the Baile Antiguo (Old Dance) with a ballroom dance. Security features include a solid security thread with printed URUGUAY, a watermark of Jose Gervasio Artigas, and a registration device that shows laurels, a scroll, and an artist’s palette.
