Featured on its obverse are the coat of arms of Uruguay and national hero Jose Gervasio Artigas. The reverse of the banknote depicts the Palacio Estevez or the Estevez Palace in Plaza Independencia, Montevideo. The paper bill is 159 x 74 mm in size and has a solid security thread with printed URUGUAY. It also has a simulated watermark that shows Jose Gervasio Artigas.
