The Venezuela 500 Bolivar Fuerte banknote is part of the series that was issued due to hyperinflation. The obverse features military leader and revolutionary Francisco de Miranda wearing a military uniform. It also bears a dolphin which is the notes registration device. The reverse displays two Amazon river dolphins known as Inia geoffrensis, a gusano flor, and the Parque Nacional Medanos de Coro. This 156 x 69 mm paper currency has a motion windowed security thread and bears the signatures of BCV President Nelson Merentes and Primer Vice President Jose Khan. It also has a watermark showing a portrait of Francisco de Miranda and an electrotype 500.
