The Vietnam 1,000 Dong banknote was released by the State Bank of Vietnam in 1988. It has a color combination of purple, green, yellow, and light blue. The obverse of the note features the coat of arms of Vietnam and former president Ho Chi Minh. The reverse depicts a mahout riding an elephant dragging felled tree in a forest. The banknote does not contain a security thread and watermark. It is 135 x 65 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. The banknote also bears a radar serial number that reads the same forward as backward. Additionally, the banknote has been TAP authenticated.
