This uncirculated 500 Vietnamese dong banknote was introduced by the State Bank of Vietnam in 1989. The reddish-brown, blue, purple, and tan note was withdrawn from circulation in 2003. Its obverse side shows the coat of arms of Vietnam and the portrait of Ho Chi Minh, the former president of Vietnam. Its reverse side depicts cranes, trucks, and ships at the dock in Hai Phong Port. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a flower pattern watermark. The note is 130 mm long and 65 mm wide.
