The West African States - Senegal 1,000 Franc banknote was released by the Central Bank of the West African States in 2003 specifically for Senegal. The banknote comes in a combination of pink, orange, brown, and purple and measures 125 x 65 mm. The obverse side shows a denomination as a registration device, a sawfish figurine, textbooks, a globe centered on the map of Africa, a chalk slate, a red cross, the Bowl of Hygieia, and the symbol of pharmacy (a snake entwined around a stem of chalice). The reverse side features two camels (Camelus dromedarius), one kneeling and one standing in a desert in Sahel, Burkina Faso, and a penal code. This banknote uses a 1-mm wide solid security thread with printed UMOA 1000 and contains a watermark with a sawfish and electrotype 1000 design. This paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
