The West African States (Benin) 1,000 Francs banknote is part of the 2002 issues. It is yellow, brown, orange, blue, and pink in color and measures 150 x 80 mm. The obverse side shows seven men storing peanuts in large sacks and a head of a young woman wearing a headscarf. The reverse side features a penal code, linked carved figures of a seated man and woman, a mask, thatched roof storage bins on stilts above a river, and two women walking with wicker baskets on their heads. This banknote uses a solid security thread and contains a watermark with a young woman wearing a headscarf design. It is graded 67 by the Paper Money Guarantee (PMG).
