The Zaire 50 Zaires specimen banknote was issued by the Bank of Zaire in 1980. The obverse of this red banknote features the coat of arms of Zaire, a leopard, and Mobutu Sese Seko wearing civilian clothes with a toque. The banknotes reverse depicts the bank initials and the national emblem. The paper bill is 190 x 95 mm in size and bears a solid security thread with printed REPUBLIQUE DU ZAIRE. It also has a watermark that reveals an image of Mobutu Sese Seko and 50 ZAIREs. This specimen banknote bears a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint on the front and a diagonal black SPECIMEN overprint on the back. This paper bill has been given a grade of 64 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
