This uncirculated 500 nouveaux zaire banknote is a specimen banknote issued by the Banque du Zaire. It is a blue banknote that is dated 30 January 1995, bears the signature of Bank Governor L. O. Djamboleka, and measures 160 mm x 74 mm. Its obverse side shows a leopard, the national coat of arms, a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint, and a portrait of Mobutu Sese Seko. Its reverse side shows the denomination and a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Security features include a thin wide windowed security thread with demetalized REPUBLIQUE DU ZAIRE, an all-zero serial number, bank initials registration device, and a watermark of Mobutu Sese Seko.
