Zaire 500 Zaires Banknote, 1984-1985, P-30s, Specimen, PMG 66

This note is a specimen of a 500 Zaire note from 1984-1985. The 500 Zaire note is a purple note that measures 154 mm x 76 mm and bears the signature of Governor Pay Pay wa Syakassighe. Its obverse side shows a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint, a leaping leopard, the coat of arms of Zaire, and a portrait of President Mobutu Sese Seko in military uniform. Its reverse side shows the Banque du Zaire initials, the OEBK (Organization Equipage Banana-Kinshasa) suspension bridge, and a diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint. Security features include an all-zero serial number, a solid security thread with printed REPUBLIQUE DU ZAIRE, and a watermark of Mobutu Sese Seko. This note is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
