The Zambia 5 Kwacha banknote was released by the Bank of Zambia in 1989 ND. Featured on the obverse of this brown banknote are a fish eagle, the coat of arms of Zambia, a butterfly, and a portrait of President Kenneth Kaunda. The banknotes reverse depicts a hand with a torch, the head of a lion cub, the Freedom Statue in Lusaka, a building, and a container. This 140 x 70 mm paper bill was printed by Harrison & Sons and bears a solid security thread. Its watermark would reflect Kenneth Kaunda when held up to a light source. This paper bill has been TAP authenticated and is in uncirculated condition.
