Ibiza is part of the Balearic archipelago (island cluster) located off the coast of Spain. The island was founded in the 6th century BC and had a rich history as a Mediterranean trading ground. It was conquered multiple times by different countries including the Romans, Norwegians and eventually the Spanish. Today the island is part of the Statute of Autonomy of the Balearic Islands establishing itself as its own community and has become infamous for its nightlife. The image on display is of the best preserved island fortress in the Mediterranean and a boat in its docks.
