The Zero Euro banknote was designed by Richard Faile with an authorized printing by the European Central Bank (ECB) to promote tourism. On its 2017-5th print series, the note features the Duisburg Zoo in Germany. It houses the largest dolphinarium in the country that contains about 3 million liters of seawater inhabited by bottle-nosed dolphins. The front design of the note focuses on the beauty and history of Europe by highlighting its iconic landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis, Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, and the Mona Lisa. The note shares many of the same attributes of a real Euro except that it is marked as 0 and is not considered a legal tender.
