The Zero Euro banknote that features Australia is part of the 16th Print-World Cup series that was issued to recognize the 32 countries that competed in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Its a souvenir banknote with an authorized printing by the European Central Bank (ECB) designed by Richard Faile, creator of famous currency souvenirs, to promote tourism and to highlight the rich culture, beauty, and sportsmanship of Europe around the world. Printed on the obverse side are some of the most iconic landmarks in Europe including the Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis, and the Mona Lisa. On the reverse is an Australian soccer player with the Sydney Opera House in the background. The multi-venue performing art center in Sydney Harbour is one of the most iconic 20th-century building famously known for its distinctive architectural style. The banknote shares any of the same characteristics of a real Euro except that they are marked as 0 and are not accepted as legitimate financial currency.
