This used 50,000 Italian lira note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Italy. It is a purple, green, yellow, and orange note that is dated 27 May 1992, bear the signatures of Antonio Fazio and Angelo Amici, and measures 149 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side features the Triton Fountain in Piazza Barberini in Rome, the seal of the Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, and Venice), and a portrait of sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Its reverse side shows the interior of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Bernini’s equestrian statue, the Vision of Constantine, and the penal code. Security features include a solid security thread with printed BANCA D’ITALIA, a solid security thread, and a watermark of Gian Lorenzo Bernini with an electrotype BI monogram.
