Congo Democratic Republic 500 Francs Banknote, 2002, P-96a.2, UNC

This uncirculated 500 Congolese franc banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Central Bank of Congo. It is a blue banknote that is dated 04 January 2002, bears the signature of Bank Governor Jean-Claude Masangu Mulongo, and measures 150 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side shows a man with a pick ax and two men with pans looking for diamonds in a stream, the bank monogram, and three diamonds. Its reverse side depicts diamond mining in a narrow valley. Security features include a solid security thread with a demetalized REP DEM DU CONGO, a 5-pointed star in a diamond as a registration device, and an Okapi head watermark.
