The Georgian 20,000 Kuponi banknote from the 1994 coupon series features carvings found in the 11th-century Samtavisi Cathedral. This purple and red banknote measures 115 x 55 mm and does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a parallelogram watermark pattern is visible. Its front design depicts a carving of a griffin flanking a Borjgali, the symbol of the sun and tree of life, and a vertical gray stripe at the right edge of the watermark area. The reverse side of the note features a detailed carving of a grapevine.
