The Ghana 50 Cedi banknote that features the six leaders of the United Gold Coast Convention was issued in 2015. Its obverse side the Freedom and Justice arch in Independence Square, a stack of nine gold bars, a cocoa pod in green-to-blue SPARK, a star, and a portrait of Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Odarkwei Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. On the reverse is the Christiansborg Castle, the seat of the government building in Accra, and gold bars. The note is 149 x 74 mm in size and contains a red-to-green windowed security thread with demetalized GHANA 50, and a watermark image of Tetteh Quarshie, cocoa pod, electrotype 50, and cornerstones to enhance its security features.
