The banknote comes in a combination of red, green, yellow, and blue colors. Its obverse side features a flower printed with optically-variable ink, an outline map of Madagascar at the upper left, and the waterfall in Ranomafana Park. Its reverse side depicts the tail of a humpback whale peeking out near the shoreline. Its security features include a butterfly registration device, a DualTrack windowed security thread with demetalized Zebu cattle head, BFM 5000, and bridge, and a watermark of a Zebu cattle head and electrotype 5000. The note is 139 x 75 mm in size and bears the signature of Governor Alain Herve Rasolofondraibe. This Madagascar 5,000 ariary banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
