This used 20 South African rand note was introduced by the South African Reserve Bank in 1982. It is a brown and orange note that measures 140 mm x 75 mm and bears the signature of Gerhardus Petrus Christiaan de Kock. Its obverse side features a painting of Bartholomeus Vermyuden that was mistaken to be Jan van Riebeeck and a building façade. Its reverse side shows the national coat of arms and three sailing ships: the Drommedaris, the Goede Hoop, and the Reijiger. Security features include a solid security thread and a van Riebeeck watermark. Additionally, the note has pinholes. The details of this note have been verified and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
