South Africa 50 Rand Banknote, 1984-1990 ND, P-122b, UNC

The South Africa 50 Rand banknote was issued in 1990 by the South African Reserve Bank. On the obverse of the note is a portrait of navigator Jan van Riebeeck and a lion. The reverse design depicts a giraffe, a springbok, a gnu, a zebra, and a deer drinking from a watering hole. A mountain range and coconut palm trees are also visible. The banknote has dimensions of 148 x 82 mm and carries a solid security thread and a watermark that shows Jan van Riebeeck. Additionally, the note was printed by the South African Bank Note Company and has the signature of Christian Lodewyk Stals who served as the bank governor/president. This particular South Africa 50 Rand banknote is in uncirculated condition.
