The Uruguay 5 Nuevos Pesos on 5,000 Pesos Banknote is part of the Central Bank of Uruguay’s 1975 provisional nuevo peso issues. The note is predominantly brown and red and measures 155 x 69 mm. Its obverse features Jose Gervasio Artigas and the coat of Uruguay. It also bears a black N45 LEY No. 14.316 circular overprint. The reverse of the note displays a church, the Banco Central del Uruguay building, and Plaza Dr. Julio C. Garcia Otero in Montevideo. The note does not contain a security thread but bears a watermark that reveals Jose Gervasio Artigas and a 5000 pattern. It also has the signatures of William Rosso, Juan Cesar Pacchiotti, and Jose Gil Diaz. This banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade 60-70.
