The Cape Verde 2,000 Escudos Banknote was issued by the Bank of Cape Verde in 1999. It is predominantly blue and is in a vertical orientation. The obverse features poet Eugenio Tavares. It also depicts a holographic open book with a pen. The reverse displays a cardeal flower, lines from Tavares’ poem “Morna aguada”, and a fountain pen. The banknote contains a 4-mm windowed security thread with demetallized BCV 2000 and the nib of a pen. Its watermark reveals Eugenio Tavares with an electrotype 2000. It is 142 x 71 mm in size and is signed by Vasco Marta and Oswaldo Miguel Sequeira. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
