The Georgia 3,000 Kuponi banknote from the 1993 series features ancient carvings found in the 11th-century Samtavisi Cathedral. The note has a dimension of 115 x 55 mm and was designed by Nodar and Bachana Malazonia. Its front design bears a carving of a griffin flanking Borjgali, the symbol of the sun and tree of life. At the back is a well-crafted carving of a grapevines. The banknote's security features includes a solid security thread and a rhombus pattern watermark.
