It is a bluish-purple note that is dated 1 October 1993, bear the signatures of Tietmeyer and Gaddum, and measures 130 mm x 65 mm. Its obverse side features buildings in Goettingen, the Gaussian distribution curve, and a portrait of scientist Carl Friedrich Gauss. Its reverse side shows the bank logo, a heliotrope, and a triangulation network.
