This uncirculated 50 Guyanese dollar banknote was issued by the Bank of Guyana in 2016 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Guyana’s independence from the United Kingdom. It bears the signatures of Bank of Guyana Governor Dr. Bobind Ganga and Minister of Finance Winston DaCosta Jordan. Its obverse side shows silhouettes of people standing in line, the Bank of Guyana logo, the 50th independence anniversary logo, and the map of Guyana. Its reverse side shows a giant waterlily (Victoria amazonica), a tree branch, the map on the flag, and flying doves. Security features include a repeating serial number, a windowed security thread with demetalized GUYANA 50, and a watermark of a red macaw head with an electrotype 50 and Cornerstones.
