The Hong Kong - Bank of China 50 Dollars banknote from 2007 was designed to highlight local scenic spots to reflect Hong Kongs stability and prosperity. Its obverse side depicts the Bank of China Tower, the Cultural Centre as a registration device, chrysanthemum flowers, and the bank logo. The reverse side features a skyline view of the Cultural Centre, Clock Tower, Promenade, and ferry boat at Star Ferry Piers on the Kowloon Peninsula. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and contains a 4-mm wide windowed holographic security thread with demetalized HK50 and Chinese characters and a solid security thread to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a Bauhinia flower watermark and electrotype 50.
