The Philippines 500 Piso Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines in 2012 to commemorate the 45th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank. It has a color combination of yellow, orange, and black. The obverse of the note depicts Benigno Simeon “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr, a dove with an olive branch in its beak, the national flag, the bank seal, a palm frond, and Aquino’s manual typewriter. It also bears a “Black Manila 2012 45th Annual Meeting of the BOARD OF GOVERNORS Asian Development Bank Manila, Philippines 2-3 May 2012” overprint. The reverse depicts Aquino holding a pen and a camera, four people holding hands, a woman with a basket and a child giving flowers to soldiers with machine guns. The reverse also displays a student and a teacher with an open book, the Tarlac Capitol building, and the Conception Municipal building in Tarlac. The banknote contains a solid and a windowed security thread with a demetallized 500. It also has a watermark that reveals Benigno Aquino Jr. The banknote is 160 x 66 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. This particular paper bill has a repeating serial #LJ085085 and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
